Admission to medicine in Romania

The requirements and procedure to get into medical schools in Romania may vary from different medical schools.

High schools diploma (A-level, Baccalaureate, etc.) or equivalent and the prove of at least B2 level of language of instruction (English, French or Romanian).
To get into medicine in most medical universities and schools in Romanian, the application file must be submitted in application deadline and following the university procedure.
Admission is based on application file competition. Some medical schools and universities organise entry test in Biology, or biology and chemistry or biology, chemistry and interview.

Academic year start at beginning of October (middle of September for some school) and end in at the end of Jun.

 

Cost of study medicine in Romania

Tuition fees: 5000 to 6250 Euro/year for most medical schools/universities. One medical school: 7000 for EU/Cee students and 9000 Euros for non-EU/EEA students.

Tuition fee payment depending on medical school:

  • at once prior to for student visa application for international medical student candidates,
  • at once or by installment (50 at beginning of the academic year, 255 at beginning of February and the last 25% at the beginning of Mars) for EU/EEA students.

Application fee or file processing fee: to apply to medicine in Romania, the applicant is required to pays the application fee which also vary from different schools. It varies from 100 to 250 Euro per application file. Final registration fee: some medical school may require final registration
English/French test: those who need to prove their level of English/French may be requested to pay additional fee.

Accommodation and living cost: minimum 5000 Euros/year.
